Mentor not Master

by Subomi Plumptre

As a mentor, one thing you should have at the back of your mind is, it’s not your dream or life. Don’t stop your mentees from trying things, even if they fail.

Your mentees have motivations you don’t have. They see things about their dreams that you can’t see. Let them take in your advice as input, mix it with other things that are important to them, and then make their own decisions.

As for your peers, celebrate them, even when they are doing better than you or are more successful. Are you following your own path? Chasing your own dreams? If you are, then don’t be envious of other people’s. Stop being tensioned by what others are doing.
