Manage Your Fears
by Subomi Plumptre

Hang in there. Manage your fears. You’ll get through this.
The world has changed. Geopolitics looks different now. COVID-19 showed us that every country stays connected to the rest. If one nation beats the virus, reopening its borders still brings fresh risks. So, every country must defeat the pandemic for the whole world to feel safe again. Immigration and emigration will shift, and countries urgently need skilled hands.
In 2020, we saw that nothing is truly too big to cancel or reschedule. People who thrived on constant activity had to slow down. Despite years of stalling, our CO2 emissions dropped. The earth took a break.
But jobs came under threat. Tourism and hospitality industries suffered huge blows. Daily earners struggled, and many entrepreneurs fell short of their projections. People renegotiated salaries. Many couldn’t find peace working from home. For some, the pandemic brought fear, depression, loneliness, and poverty.
So, manage your fears.
During this time, people realized that poor leadership could endanger their lives. New leaders rose to the occasion—healthcare workers, NGOs, and private businesses stepped up. Many turned to real experts, not just spiritual leaders.
With all this happening, please breathe. You can’t control everything. Focus on what you can do, right in front of you. Check on your family and friends. Give what you can. Save what you must.
Hang in there. Manage your fears. You will overcome.
