Compelling Vision of New Earth: Part 1
by Subomi Plumptre
Let me take you on a bold and beautiful journey.
What if I told you that even though Christians appear preoccupied with Heaven, there is so much to enjoy now? A present life of wonder, joy, and delight?
What if you could have a fantastic relationship with the Holy Spirit here on Earth, and then continue it when you died? First, you would make a brief stop in Heaven and then enjoy eternity on a completely New Earth.
You would have unrestricted access to our HQ in the New Jerusalem, while also having the right to present yourself in the King’s court in the New Heaven.
There would come a time when the whole universe would finally open up to you, and you could travel beyond the speed of light to any galaxy you desire, exploring the wonders and boundaries of space-time. Orion, Pleiades and the Bear would point the way.
So pause for a moment. If someone told you your journey does not end at making Heaven, would you live your current life differently?
Would you spend more time building works of gold you can take with you, instead of worthless activities made of stone that you must leave behind?
If a friend told you there would be cities and projects in the New Earth, would you believe them? That in eternity, there is continuity of identity, responsibility, and purpose?
What if God never forgets your labour of love? And not one sacrifice or hidden obedience escapes His record books?
After all, twelve apostles will have their names written into the foundation stones of the New Jerusalem, because they followed Jesus.
Twelve tribes will have their names etched into the gates because a patriarch once gave God his son. And because of that, God gave us His in return.
If I said that in eternity there would still be time, but no death, would you look forward to the changing seasons? Would you crave the justice and good governance that would finally be normal? Enjoy the experience of diverse cultures and nations living as one family?
Knowing all this, would you be excellent on Earth, and be faithful with the gifts God has given you, so you can be entrusted with even more on the New Earth?
Would you?
