Principalities and Powers

Since a former government official put the presence of demonic powers in the seat of power in the public narrative, I would like to share some thoughts. I would like to talk about grace.

Most Christians are gainfully employed. They run businesses or work in companies. Maybe they devote an hour or two a week to spiritual warfare. (I’m not referring to daily devotionals.) Those dedicated to Satan’s business do nothing else. Their waking thought is evil, their afternoons are spent consulting with Shamans while their evenings are dedicated to destruction. You cannot outpray them. By the way, they fast too because they understand the power generated through fasting. And they sow. While you give money, they give the lives of their children.

Without a personal relationship with God and his navigational grace, you will match your works with theirs in a bid to overcome evil. In doing so, you will negate the grace of God and enter the realm of spiritual forces. You may lose your way as you invoke elemental spirits and amoral faith thinking it is God. (That is why people seem to die when you pray for them to die. Because, it is not everything that is supernatural that is scriptural.)

This is how a relationship with God and a dependence on his grace work in spiritual warfare: Word of knowledge & word of wisdom cease to be things you only experience in church. On a daily basis, God will have conversations with you. He will point out those plotting evil against you. He will tell you where that “troubling sensation” is coming from. He will give you specific instructions. So when he tells you to fast, it will be very specific and he will tell you the duration. When you pray in the Spirit, you will know the Holy Spirit is praying through you. When people say they pray for 3 hours at a stretch, what they don’t tell you is that when the Holy Spirit prays through you, it doesn’t FEEL like 3 hours.

So, it’s really up to you. You may choose to fight evil with works or you may decide to deploy grace.

It is grace that reminds us that God neither sleeps nor slumbers. While you are sleeping, someone is fighting on your behalf. Grace tells us we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. It says our lives are hidden with Christ in God. It assures us that although the Devil comes to steal, kill and destroy, we have abundant life. Now, isn’t that something?
