I used to wonder why people follow idols. Then I realised they want quick power, like the one who desires quick sex from a prostitute or easy man/woman.

Accessing God’s power requires relationship.

Just like the one who doesn’t have time for conversation, yet wants sex, so is the idol worshipper who has no time for a relationship with God. They’d rather substitute relationship with sacrifices like the one who substitutes it with money in a romantic situation.
