Cholerics & Relationships

by Subomi Plumptre

It is possible to be deeply compassionate about issues and to fight for justice & equity, yet not really care about people. It is the ideals you care about, the projects, not the humans.

Many Choleric leaders can be like that. They have a finely tuned sense of justice and process. But, they fail spectacularly at relationships.

A typical Choleric knows intellectually, that their loved ones crave conversation and quality time, but they just don’t care. They lack the emotional bandwidth to deal. They would rather buy gifts and save time. But the thing is, other people discern what you care about from what you proritise daily.

It is amazing that many Cholerics don’t see the irony of wanting people to care about what is important to them – their mission and projects – without giving a damn about what is important to others – relationships and humanity.
