It’s difficult for some to comprehend that a relationship with God can begin, when you stop working to earn it or when you stop punishing yourself. Mine did. After over two decades of “works” and traditional Christianity, I started going about my normal business and assumed God would reach out when he had my time. After all, he’s an adult.

I don’t believe in a passive-aggressive God who has to be bribed with good behaviour. Would God really want from you; what no one should expect in a relationship? Continuous begging for favours and treats? A constant feeling of being unworthy? That is emotional abuse, not relationship.

God has your address. He has a mouth. When he’s in the mood to talk, he will.

I sometimes hear God in my heart and all that. But mostly, I hear him as I read the Bible. I learn better by reading, not by listening and God seems to know that.

All this stressing over hearing God. Really. Won’t you eat? Won’t you work? Won’t you live? Please go on with your life. It is his responsibility to talk. Abi, did you call yourself? Is God now into hide and seek or what? ??

People should STOP feeling like they aren’t good enough, because religion has told them the only way to be in God’s good books is through sufferhead. Relax. Breathe. God is not that hard.
